Vampire Encounters in New York

I thought of doing research on vampires ever since a strange incident I had back in 1991. I believe that I met a real vampire, not a psychic. When I first saw this guy, the word “vampire” screamed in my head. It was weird, and I thought it was my imagination.

The next couple of days, I thought of the scream that I “heard” inside my head and wanted to use a mirror to see if he had a reflection. Apparently, he read my mind, and saw that I didn’t pose a threat. We spent a few weeks just basically talking, and he was trying to hint at me about what he was, but I was too afraid to come out and just ask him. He told me about being alive over 400 years ago, not being able to go into the sunlight, etc. He basically told me that he was a vampire without using the word vampire itself.

One day, after knowing him for about a month, I go home and the next day, I woke up with a funny type of memory loss. I remembered everything clearly for the last two weeks, except that the memories about him were almost like a blur. It was like trying to remember something from ten years ago, or trying to remember a dream. As the day went on, my memories of him became clearer and I regained full memory as the day wore on. When I went back to where I was spending time with him, he was gone. I believe that he had hypnotized me to forget about him. It was kinda weird how I’m going to remember everything of the day before except for him. It’s a also a possibility that I was able to retain the memories because I had a strong mind. Who knows?

There were three real vampire encounters here in New York that were documented by authorities. The first one was released to the public, it happened around late 70’s or early 80’s and the second one was classified and sent to the Feds to be investigated. The third one was also partially released to the public.

The first one goes like this: A guy gets hit by an ambulance and thrown like 30 to 40 feet in a crowded intersection. There was an ambulance already there at the intersection waiting for the light. All they had to do was open the door and put the guy in the ambulance. They get him to the hospital where he refused all treatment, including blood work and X-rays. He wanted to leave, but he was surrounded by hospital staff and other patients in the ER. He even refused to give his name. They put him in a private room with a nurse outside. He refused all food and water as well.

An elderly couple come to visit him carrying very heavy army duffle bags, they leave later without the duffle bags. An ER tech comes to pick up patient for X-rays, he goes with the X-rays, tech, nurse goes into the room to find out what they brought into the duffle bags to him. She goes into the bathroom and finds a bunch of blood donation bags on the floor, mostly empty, she turns around and runs out of the room, the wheelchair is there with the orderly sitting in it, with fang holes on his neck. She screams and armed security guard comes running (this was the secure floor). He flashes fangs at guard, and the guard shoots. The bullets did absolutely nothing to him. He then jumps out of the window, which was like 15 – 20 stories above the ground and actually runs off like nothing ever happened to him.

This was documented on Beyond Belief, Fact or Fiction as a true story. The nurse took an early retirement.

    Hi Marisol,
what did the vampire you met look like? how old (physically) do you think he was? where did you meet him and what did you talk about? Yes, I know I am insanely curious, if you don’t mind I will be asking more questions ;)
    Regards, dinah

    Hi,
He had short dark hair, and dark eyes, looked kinda European. Based on subsequent artistic representations that I’ve seen, I would say that he looked kinda Roman. It creeped me out so bad, that I’ve actually thought of undergoing hypnotism to remember full details and even for outside verification of what happened, but I don’t to just come out and say why I want to be hypnotized. I met him where he was working at the time. PS: I forgot to mention that this one time before we started talking we were riding the elevator and he was standing behind me, we were heading towards a floor that was a little lively. Well, it surprised me when the elevator doors open and you could have hears a pin drop, ALL noise stopped. I froze and peeked out of the elevator and people were frozen in time, then he comes up behind me and says: “I am eternal”, walks out of the elevator and people unfreeze and start talking, breathing, and moving again. No joke!!.

Sorry, it was so long ago but I think that he kinda looked like late 20’s, possibly early 30’s.

  4. Barb says:

Fasinating story, you mentioned three documented cases, plase could you tell me where i could find the information on these.
I truely believe the person you met was a true vampire. What sort of things did you talk about with him, do you remember? as i am deeply curious.

The one about the nurse I read about in a book over 10 years ago and just filed it in my mind, until I saw it as one of the segments on the tv show “fact or fiction: beyond belief”. If you don’t know what that is, it’s was a tv show that aired about late 90′s early 2000′s. It ran for 1 hour and would show four recreations, and then leave you in suspense until the end of the show, when they would tell you which ones were real, and which ones were works of fiction. Well, I watched it with my ex, and when that segment came on, I told you it was real, and he said BS. Well I told him to just wait for the end of the show to find out for real. well, he almost crapped pants, which it was “fact”. The actual ckity that it happened in was never released to the public. I think it aired on the 1st season.

There was another one, which happened in NYC itself. This one was classified by the NYPD and sent to the feds. So, I don’t want to go into much detail about this one except say that there were approx 5+ fatalities associated with this attack. Two neighboring familities were targeted. There was evidence that this was a vampie attack, such as holes on the sides of the necks and bodies drained completely of blood and no blood evidence anywhere in the houses, so they never found any speck of blood to save for future analysis. For this one, I’m never going to say which neighborhood it happened in.

The third one, I believe was pulled by the media sources. I read about it in a newspaper back in 1987 soon after I came out of the military. I was bored and pick up a newspaper and was reading it all the way through, page by page,, that’s how bored I was. I think it was a weekend. I saw a tiny article buried near the back of the paper, probably right before the sports section, or close enough to it. It mentioned a halloween party thrown by an upscale couple somewher upstate. Again, the town was never released and believe me that I tried going online to look this up. Well, in this one, this guy shows up the this upscale party. It was thrown by rich people, for other rich people. When this unvited guy shows up, nobody asked him who he was or who invited him. They thought that he naturally belonged because of the way he carried himself. He basically carried himself like European royalty or European aristocratic upper crust. The three most beautiful girls in the party were attracted/drawn to him and spent the rest of the time together at the party and actually left together. The next day all three girls were found dead, on the side of a road. They were laying side by side with holes and the sides of the their necks and their bodies were completely drained of blood. PS: I’m seriously thinking of doing a study of vampire mythology from an anthropological viewpoint for grad school in about 1.5 years or 2 years.

  6. Marisol says:

PS: I’m not a believe, per se, but I have an open inquisitive, and scientific mind. I’m the type of the person to say: “show me evidence, dna analysis, C14 dating, etc. I’m like the scientist, who had a highly possible vampire sighting, and who is willing to do scientific analysis to either prove or disprove., Thanks.

  7. Dinah says:

    Hi Marisol
You mentioned that you knew this person for a month, what did you talk about? how often did you see him? Have you analyzed what he said and why do you think he communicated with you?

  8. Luxuael says:

Greetings to marisol, that video shows untrue, but you told us is true.

on that video shows ‘cop security’ but it was a solider that you said?

on video doesn’t show that police shoot at vampire.

anyway… I believe you than this video. And ofcourse one true vampire that I stared at him on fully night. and then he saw me, then i turned my head to other side. after 2 and half seconds and then i tried to stare at him for stupidity thing. but he gone instantly. you were right.

  9. Marisol says:

    Hi,
According to the official story, there was armed hospital security stationed near the elevator. I live in NYC and the only time you get that is if the hospital has a “secure” floor, which is where they hold prisoners receiving medical care, or VIP’s sometimes, or just “special” cases. The fact that there was armed hospital staff, means that they were worried about this guy, worried for him, or he needed 24-hour care and/or supervision. In fact I believe that they stated that they wanted him to be watched at all times because they thought that he was in shock, because he was not showing the pain they believe he should have shown after being hit and thrown 30-40 feet by the car. Secondly, They also thought that if he was in shock, he could start coding at any time, and he needed 24-hour supervision to be able to resuscitate him in case he sarted to code. From what I saw when it aired, it looked exactly like what I read in the original story. At least that segment was right on the money. I remember it from when I first read about it back in the early 90′s. Apparently it happened back in late 70′s, early 80′s. Where did you get the idea that the TV Show was make believe. Did someone tell you that or do you know of one of the stories in particular in which they made a mistake in tabeling the segment between fact or fiction. As far as I’m concerned since they correctly labeled this vampire encounter as a fact, and even went as far as stating that the police never released which town it occurred in, means to be that they did their research thoroughly.

  10. Marisol says:

    Dinah:
i knew him for about a period of 2 months. We spoke of his past. He told of his first hand accounts of Europe, from the medievel period and crusades, and the search for religious artifiacts during the crusades period. I don’t remember specifics since it was 18 years ago. I don’t know why he chose me to open up to. it wasn’t like if we were romantically involved. Some of my friends tell me that I’m easy to talk to, that they sometime feel that they could come to me and open up with their problems. Maybe he felt that he needed to open up and thought that he could trust me. That’s probably why I felt no fear with him. On a side note: In the past whenever I was in danger, I have felt it. That’s how I was able to survive overseas while stationed in a semi-hostile area in the military. By the way, he was never hostile to me in any way, shape or form. I felt completely at ease and safe when near him. I never searched for him because he did try to hypnotize me once to cause me to forget. The hypnosis did not take, and I don’t know what will happen if he ever found out that the hypnosis did not take. For hypnosis to take root, you have to have a ‘susceptible” mind. I’m looking at the possiblity that my mind protected me from hypnosis because I have an iq in the 150-160′s range, and I have a photographic memory. I even thought of the possiblity that he never attacked me because he felt friendship for me or possibly gratitude that I listened and did not fear or reject him. Another possibility is that he never attacked or turned me because he did not want me to miss out on getting married, having a normal life and having kids, since I was only 24 at the time.

  11. Adamaris says:

If someone confides in you something personal, is it within your rights to be able to expose it? What makes it more surprising is that it is not even to one person but the internet. I have my ways, my secrets, things I’ve seen, and I would hope that if I told anyone anything about myself that they would have the decency to keep it solely to themselves. If anything became public, for example on the internet, I would hope it would be from me, not through anyone else. I see it as a betrayal of trust. Yes, it is good to learn, to pass on your knowledge, but personal information is different.
Even a ‘smart’ mind can be incredibly weak. Hypnosis is persuasion, and if you’re hard headed and too closed up it does not work as well. You say you have a high IQ, photographic memory, and the belief of having a strong mind, this simple unconscious belief most likely did not allow your mind to open up to the ideas and persuasion hypnosis offers. Manipulation of the mind is fun, childish, but amusing nonetheless. I get bored.

  12. Dinah says:

    Marisol
Adamaris has a good point. Why did you choose to reveal this story now? This event occurred in 1991. Just wondering..

  13. jiggyasa says:

    hi Marisol…
i dont think dat is true… after twilight novel it is like a joke to everyone..
i dont knw bt how can i believe in wat i hvnt encountered…
    dats gud u survived..

  14. Marisol says:

Isn’t learning, knowledge and growth, as well as the sharing of non-personal information what this website is all about? I’m here to learn more of what happened to me. Obvisouly you have a problem with expressing of one’s mind. I looked back at my posts and I certainly did not do absolutely anything abusive or wrong. ps: hypnosos not working has nothing to do with being hard-headed or close–minded. It is a scientifically known fact that stronger minds, are more immune to hypnosis than the minds of other people. I posted my story for feedback, on what it could have been and if other people underwent a similar experience.

  15. Adamaris says:

I have given feedback. What you have told us, is also relaying what someone privately told you. I have known people that have not kept private information. It is not pleasant.
I have no problem with people expressing their mind, as I express back my own thoughts.
Yes, because stronger minds are more hard headed and less susceptible to persuasion. Those who are soft and malleable, as they are easier to persuade, are weaker in their mind set.

  16. stacy says:

lot’s of questions…..why wait so long before telling your story? and the video’s said the whole thing was fake so why would you come on here and say different? i am not accusing just curious. i would like to beleive in vampires but since i have no proof and no reason to beleive in them..i read stories and wounder. but i hope you meet him again one day also what was his name? you never said his name.

  17. Ripkord says:

I just finished watching the Beyond Belief:Fact or Fiction episode about the vampire story that Marisol is referring to. When they stated the story was a fact I was shocked, as that was the one story that I believed was fiction.

According to what was just shown, there was an armed security station by the elevator on the floor and the “Vampire” did in fact pick up and throw the police officer against a wall (rendering him unconscious) with no trouble. The show also stated that the “Vampire” did injure another hospital employee by biting him in the throat, but they didn’t say if he died or not. Also, after the “Vampire” threw the police officer against the wall he jumped through a closed glass window from the 6th floor and he was never found. There was no mention of the police officer shooting the “Vampire”.

Also, when the nurse checked in the “Vampire’s” bathroom to see why the old man had been in there, she found dozens of discarded, empty blood plasma bags. This story has sure got me thinking that things may be quite different than what I’ve always believed. The show also stated that these events happened at an east coast hospital, but they didn’t say where specifically on the east coast. Because it is being discussed here, can I assume that this happened in New York state?

Can anyone here direct me to an online resource for this particular story? I’d really appreciate the help.

  18. Ariel says:

who determines vampyres are bad and unkind?

  19. Marisol says:

    Hi guys,
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the video. I’m going to try to get a copy of it. I found out that it happened in New York after reading a book about real vampire cases probably like in the early 90′s. The fact that it happened in New York probably caused me to remember this case more than the others. I also read that it happened in New York, but the City that it happened it was never released. I never heard of a video which claimed that this story never happened. In fact the “beyond belief: fact of fiction” had it as a real story. Other things that were in the story and not in the video was something about the nurse either retiring or leaving her job. It would be kinda cool to be able to post links to videos here. This way we could avoid confusion.

  21. lisa ekie says:

i feel i may have had an encounter with a vampire. not sure. home at night by myself with new baby my husband was out with friends for the evening it was about 1 am and i woke up for really no reason im aware of, and walked directly to my kitchen where our patio door was. i had a pushing feeling to go towards the door and pull the curtain aside, again,i stress, it felt like i was being pushed to do everything i was doing when i pushed the curtain aside there was a woman standing there looking right in my eyes. hers were large black and round she was extremely pale and had long scraggly brown hair she may have been native descent not sure. i felt like she was mentally communicating with me wanting me to open the door she would look at the dead bolt then to me never opening her mouth to speak it seemed to go on for ever. then i felt myself disconnect from her gaze and i ran to my babys room check on him then called the police she was apparently gone when they arrived. for the time of year it was she was very underdressed and definatley not well manicured just completely scarry i couldnt stop shaking after the encounter and i never thought vampire till very recently. but if they are out there she would qualify

  22. Nevaeh says:

I loved that show Beyond Belief Fact or Fiction. I wish it was still on.

  23. lisa ekie says:

i dont watch much tv but would like to find others with my experience

  24. McLeod says:

Ummm ok 1st of all I live in New York City…I admit the ” vampire counter-culture ” was at its peak around the time you claim your incident happened, however we also have some of the finest and lax in security mental institutions in the world, I believe your so called memory loss has more to do with the ingestion of fermented yeast-based beverages than anything else. Every wanna-be goth and pre-emo kid claimed to be a ” vampire ” back then which, of course, as we all know has led to the explosion in the ” hot topic ” chain of stores and also accounts for the popularity of Depeche Mode. My guess is he saw a gullible and impressionable person and used it to ” have his fun ” in other words he was more interested in giving rather than receiving certain bodily fluids…also if he had hypnotized you to forget about him how could you possibly be recounting this to begin with?

  25. Kayla says:

I’m really interested in this kind of stuff. :D My friend, Sira, doesn’t beleive in ANYTHING. I’m part beleiver… So I’m doing research about this topic.

  26. lisa ekie says:

research is the key in finding truth

  27. Marisol says:

I was not into vampire culture in the least, and I was definitely not drinking “beer”. I was a disabled veteran who was at the time working full time and pulling 16 credits. Also I was not an impressionable young person. I had been previously involved in overseas military stuff that was never released to the public . As you can see, with my background it was very hard for me to accept the supernatural. This was Also hard to understand because I am and have always been a very level headed person. I had to come to terms with what happened and try to come up with possible reasons for what looked like hypnosis. I even tried getting myself hypnotized and it couldn’t be done because I was told I was too mentally strong. Then I had to make a list of possible reasons why I had a memory loss and afterwards remembered: this what I’m working with: photograhic memory, iq range: 165, absolutely no possibility that I was drugged by sethimg I ate or drank, no drugs / alcohol. So now I’m left with an enigma: “spiritual/psychical” warning, time lapse where people froze in time for a few seconds, selective memory loss w/o any known reason for such memory loss and a rapid regaining of such memory possible due to mental acuity/high iq.

  28. Gabriel says:

I think this would haft be one of the undead

  29. Marisol says:

That experience that I had was a real eye opener. What’s even weirder is that we had some kind of connection, possibly soul/spirit. Maybe we were soulmates in a previous life, who knows? I also looked up the episode of Beyond belief: fact or fiction that has the vampire story in it. It’s season 3, episode 20. the segment is titled: Segment 4, blood bank.. I will try to get a copy.

  30. Hannah says:

Ya’ll think Vampires are real cause of Twilight and Newmoon and Eclipse.
They used too b real but none exist anymore (Including Edward Cullen) :)

  31. Vampire Truth Admin says:

Do you really think this started with Twilight? You should know that people have been fascinated with Vampires, claimed to be Vampires, etc since long long before Twilight came out and even long before you were born. It is not a new thing by any means.

  32. Intrigued says:

Hi Marisol, your story is intriguing. I know that these were private conversations that you had with this person. How did you meet him? Was it in the evening? Was there anything that you talked about that stood out? What was it that creeped you out about him other than the obvious? I’m just very curious as you spent quite a bit of time getting to know this person.

  33. priscilla says:

Hi Marisol.i somehow believe that vampires do exist,, they said its a fiction, its really interesting

  34. Scarlett says:

    Hi there all,
I did once read a fascinating story about ‘Agememnon’ a real vampyre, who I btw believe to be a real one indeed, especially after that I read in this forum the ocurrences which happened at the East Coast.
Have a look, read through and tell me what you think.
    http://www.frightscape.com
For all those who would intend to hunt vampyres: don’t do it! They too have a right to live just like all creatures…never forget that!

  35. Mitchel says:

I’m really interested in finding out more about vampires. This story has really caught my attention and i would love to be able to hear more.

  36. Emm says:

i found that beyond belief clip. its called ‘blood bank’ i got quite a good kick out of it.

  37. lisa eike says:

not been on here for some time but i truly believe we have to open our minds up to what is truly happening around us. there are so many things undiscovered from here to galaxies far away so in reality we are just at the beginning of understanding whats out there no one really knows. lets leave it at that.the experience i had was not at the height of some goth or vampire craze those things were never something i thought about then or now im pretty much one of the most boring people i know. strange things can happen to anyone its probably a matter of right place at the right time or wrong place right time who knows its a big wide world out there isnt it
